| TAXI DRIVERS’ FORUM UNITED IN ADVERTISING APPROVAL |

A pioneering decision was made at the most recent Taxi Drivers’ Licensing Board at the Town Hall, which is set to change the way companies promote their business in Bournemouth!
United Taxis of Holdenhurst Road was successful in its second bid to acquire a licence to carry adverts on each private hire and Hackney cab in its 150-strong fleet.
Bournemouth has historically prohibited the advertising of relevant businesses on any of its taxis in the town, however, after over two years of campaigning, United Taxis has been successful in its latest application.
United Taxis director, Mike Ball, said: “It is a natural progression that our fleet should be allowed to carry advertising. In these days of increased fuel costs and expansion in advertising media we all welcome this decision, which we have really fought hard for! We are now actively seeking high-profile advertisers. United Taxis is the largest fleet in Dorset and has the rights to Bournemouth International Airport, collectively we represent a superb advertising opportunity.”
The company that was established in 1995 has already secured a superb first deal with local radio station 2CR FM which has taken a number of United’s vehicles in a six-month deal that will see the local broadcaster’s logo appear on the rear wing.
Derek Heritage, co-director, added: “We hope to see more blue-chip brands and national companies take up on the exposure our cars can provide. When one considers that United Taxis boasts over 25,200 hours per week on the roads in and around Bournemouth, it is a real opportunity.”
United Taxis has recently invested in state-of-the-art text booking systems along with text points throughout the town and an automated booking service. |
